What makes this location Mahale extra special is the presence of chimpanzees in the thick forests that cover the its slopes.

Jane Goodall made the area famous and has done much to highlight awareness of the chimpanzees and promote their conservation.

The chimpanzees  are approachable allowing for the unique and rare experience of close contact to our closest relative  in the animal kingdom. The chimpanzees are not the only feature however, as the lake itself is quite beautiful and home to abundant bird and aquatic life.

Day 2: (Tuesday) Walking Safaris & Game Drives in Katavi National Park

After breakfast, Morning walking safari to explore the Katavi floodplain.

Lunch at the Lodge.

Afternoon game drive of Katavi National Park (activities can be re-routed; this can be discussed with the camp manager on your arrival. Dinner and overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 3: (Wednesday) Game Drives & Bush Lodge in Katavi Park

After breakfast, morning and afternoon game drive of the park with Bush lunch Dinner and overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 4: (Thursday) Katavi Park – Arusha Airport
