This is a most unusual tour that is privately guided that combines the best of of our Eastern Cape Cultural Tours Xhosa Culture with a working Sheep farm,a little Archaeology and amazing scenery.
Its a combination of and designed for you to experience 2 different rural cultural communities.
The Xhosa Culture and traditions and the Afrikaner farming lifestyle
The Eastern Cape is the second biggest Province in South Africa where the majority of people are Xhosa speaking, and where most of the land is occupied by rural villages
We can do this tour in reverse order as well, and we can also add in a stop over in Mt Zebra National Park where they have a track cheetahs safari programs.

DAY 1:
Pick up from East London and drive to Elundini Village outside Hogsback . You will be spending the night in the village lodge.
We will go on a village walk with a village guide, enjoy local beer with the locals in a village shebeen.
Dinner at the village lodge.
DAY 2:
After breakfast you will meet with their village host.
At the village host home you will participate on bread making, the traditional Xhosa bread. This is a full immersive experience from fetching wood from the bushes to cooking your own bread.
You had better focus when instructed on how to make bread as that is what you will be eating for lunch.
After lunch we leave this village and head up into the Amatola Mountains to Cata village.
We will spend the night in the village, accommodation will either be at a village, homestay or in the village lodge.
Free time to wander the village with your guide or enjoy a walk in the surrounding area.
DAY3:
After breakfast the village guide will continue with a in depth walk through the village that will include a visit to the village Sangoma.
The walk will end at the village Museum where learning about the history of the village including the Forced Removals that affected the village during Apartheid.
Further we will look at the modern time in how the village has taken the
opportunity to develop the village into a tourist attraction.
From Cata we will drive to Mount Zebra National Park about 3.5 hours away heading deeper into the Eastern Cape where will stay for the night game driving later afternoon. They also have a track cheetahs safari program that can be prebooked.
What’s unusual about the Zebras in this park is that they think they are mountain goats as they climb up the hills/mountains. Quite a unusual site.
The park lodge has a restaurant or most of the chalets are fully equipped for self catering for a braai(South African for BBQ)
DAY4:
We depart early for more game viewing in Mt Zebra park, returning for breakfast and later morning head for our 2N Afrikaner farm stay about 90 minutes away.
Over the next day and a half we will experience a range of activities that will include fossils/ medicinal plants/ bushman rock art paintings/meerkats/rural farm hospitality and for those who like to walk there is a nice peak to walk up.
Here you will experience the solitude, peace, quite e of the Karoo and warmth Afrikaner hospitality.
As well they have some animal rehabilitation programs running such as meerkats, squirrels that we can participate in.
Day5
The farm is a working sheep farm and we can watch or maybe help out, feed the sheep as you like.

Day 6
We leave to visit the artists small village of Nieu Bethesda….then drop you off in Port Elizabeth or back in East London.
A easy add on is a Eastern Cape Safari.
